It's not a charity FOR her, genius. It's a charity run by her for less-fortunate people. Even as a multi-millionaire, there's a limit to what she can do with just her own money. Getting everyone involved is much more powerful.

What does her financial status have to do with the worthiness of any charities she supports?

Americans are and always have been the most generous people on the planet--simply letting them know there are other options for charity donations isn't hurting anyone. If they can't or don't want to give, then they don't. There are so many needs in the world, even Bill Gates can't wipe out any one problem.

How much "I" give to a charity is not dependant on the ability of others to give. If I can afford it, & if I believe it is worty of my ability to give, then I'd give because it's "MY" choice.
How much Oprah gives is up to her, not you, OR me. And vice-versa!!!!
"Giving" isn't a competition, or a matter for "bragging rights", it's a matter of the heart. Sounds like you need one.
