I used to have a book on the history of clothing/costume. It covered both historical and contemporary clothing (as a timeline, terminating when the book was published -- sometime in the early '60s, I think), and contained a special supplement on fashion illustration.

I remember the book had more information than normal regarding the ancient Cretian/Minoan civilizations. I would love to know the title, so I could re-buy the book someplace. I think it was something generic like "history of clothing", so it's very hard to search for!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could ask the Costume Museum Shrewsbury they will help you,

They once sent me some pictures from an old costume book that helped date my old oil paintings precisely.

If you approached a second hand book shop that does book search they would probably come up with big list so this may not help you much.

But a Historical Costume Museum would probably have most of the old books in their library you could brows at.
