to wait until you were mature to start doing childish things?
Seems many are reliving their childhoods on this site.
I expected it from the younger crowd, but was disappointed to find many of the MATURE users have resorted to childish pranks on other users.
Is this normal behavior as a person ages?
Will we all end up like this?

I was raised in a good, loving home with two highly regarded and reputable parents. We never did practical jokes on one another and I have no interest in doing so in my older years either. Unfortunately, there are people out there who didn't have the wonderful opportunity of being raised in a good standing environment. Some, turned their misfortune around to break the cycle of dysfunction, some became high upstanding individuals, and I greatly admire them for that. All we can do is (for those who believe) pray for them to see the good and turn their immature ways around. Whatever their problem is, let us continue to try to help them and if we can't, lets continue doing what we have always been doing as if nothing is wrong. As if nothing is wrong. For the mature ones are still here.

I must be missing out on the mature users on here and their childish pranks on others, That must be a good thing then, if it is not involving me! We had alot of laughter, fun, games, tickling and teasing in our home, but I do not remember any practical jokes, thank goodness!!! Practical jokes at another person's expense can be hurtful, so I hope I don't ever end up like what you are suggesting!

you must of been one of the lucky one's with a normal childhood. Some where raised by 'stuffed shirts'(the colonel).Everyday was a regimented routine, run solely by the clock. After dinner every night was 4 more hours of schooling.
We had an hour every night of, Physics,Law basics, math and reading the dictionary. One half hour of television, then to bed. Regular school was a joke, they were doing addition and subtraction, when I was using a slide rule. The teachers all thought of me as a 'smart aleck' and recieved low grades as punishment. The colonel would see my report card and we drilled even harder on finite math , Newtons Laws of Physics,Economics, etc.etc. By the time I was 14 in social studies the teacher would ask a simple question and my reply would be viewed as argumenative, since my answer would include geography mixed with the local ecomony and their gross national product and exports of said country. So is it a wonder that now we like to be a little 'lighter' at our age ? A little humor kept me from going nuts !

I had a good childhood and I hear ya about the behavior on this site!! I don't know why people want to disguise their avatar and name!! If I have something to say I say it. To me a disguise is the work of a coward. I had a problem and posted it, it got deleted but ended up being friends with the person I made the post about. Maybe confronting the person you have the problem with would solve some problems. I was with my family yesterday and returned to see my stalker bashing me again. Does it ever end? And, WHY do I get under her skin. I never answer any of her many disguised posts!!! Makes you think dementia is sitting in on her!!!

Being raised on a farm. With a Grandfather who was a preacher, our practical jokes were a bit limited!!! We were kids however, so the usual stunts were pulled. But what was considered good clean fun was a whole different ball game than today! Grandfather would have had his razor strap out for sure!

If I ever get to be as bad as some of the things I see here I hope someone puts me out of my (and everyone else's) misery.

IT is not normal behavior and I think that is part of the problem we have here. Whether it is due to disease or medication we all seem to have gotten off track, and on Christmas was the worst possible time to do it. A lot of sad and lonely people on the Holidays. Peace in 2008

Its not only the young. In my forties I learned that a particularly fastidious childless couple would posted to the police house next door. With our kids and animals this didn't bode well. I gathered some dead mice from the pet sheds and blew them through the letter box with cardboard tube. Came the "inspection" visit, a high pitched scream, squealing car tyres as they drove away and later a nice couple moved in.

The important element of that expression to remember is "practical." It must have been funny to the victim as well as the participants or the joke would be hurtful.
