Who cares? I hate Cat Stevens for making such crappy music in the 70's.

Personally...unless they turn out to be rapists or something, I could care less about the personal lives of celebrities. Islam, Buddhism, Christian.....most celebs are just over paid hypocrites. So, since I don't know the man....I reserve judgement.
I have agreed, and disagreed with various things he has supported over the years......but I still enjoy his music, and I'm glad that Yousef has discovered that being Muslim does NOT preclude him from making music.
(if there is a point of concern.....it would be the support he gave for the death verdict on Salmon Rushdie.......I find possible fanaticism worrisome with anyone......but it does not seem he is very vocal about these things anymore. I can hope that he did his research, and being in a part of the world that the clergy does not have total domination of thought....discovered that Jihad is not a pillar of Islam...there are only 5 pillars...not 6.)

Mr. Stevens has an inquiring mind, and it has led him down many paths... He's a WONDERFUL musician, and a very interesting man.
His music has provided me with many hours of pleasure.
I hope Islam brings him joy and peace of mind.

Cat Stevens was really popular when I was a teenager. He was one weird duck, but his music was genius!
The Islam thing is just one of the many strange things that he has done in his life time.
At one point he completely stopped performing, because he became a Christian and thought that his music was the work of the devil. One weird duck, I tell ya!

No. I enjoy the man's music. I could not care less about his religious or political affiliations. That goes for all entertainers.

I don't hate anybody, but I wish some people would adjust their attitudes. I have nothing against anybody because of their religions.
