I used to but there are too many phonies out there. This guy lives across the street from me and stands at the freeway exit all day claiming to be homeless. Also, I used to give change to a guy outside the store all the time until I saw him at McDonalds with a wad of money and I barely had enough to cover my meal!

Seriously, where i live, there is noone begging on the street. When i did live in the big city, there were homeless people on the streets, but i never gave money. I would rather give to a charity to provide them with food and shelter, rather than give them the $ for them to go buy grog with - or as you said, half of them arent even homeless. I bet i get a few thumbs down for that : )

Not lately...
But earlier tonight, I left with my hubby to drop off some old clothes to the Salvation Army.
While we were parked to off load the things we were getting rid of, a homeless man on a bike asked him if there were any blankets in the stuff we were dropping off... My hubby walked over to me in the car and asked, I said no but that he could give him the over sized beach towel I keep in the car.... It is HUGE, my hubby gave him that and an old sweatshirt of his from the clothes...
I wish everyone had a home... â¥
The man was very grateful... He didn't bother for anything he was just cold... :(

I used too, until a special came on TV. It showed people pretty well off, dressing as if they had nothing. after they were done getting what money, they had gotten. go into a restaurant and change their clothes. hope into a really nice truck. very well dressed. Be on there way!

nope, because most of the time they ARE phonies.
I once saw this guy standing on the side of the rode with a homeless sign...but you should hav seen what he was wearing! He was better dressed than me!

Only if I sincerely feel that the person that is asking for help, truly needs it. I will even go so far as to purchase a person a meal.

I use to but I found out that they use it to get drugs or
liquor, when they say they want it for food,
I don't really care that if they drink or do drugs,
what I don't like is that they lie to me to get it,
and so I stop doing it,
