A psychiatrist visited a California mental institution and asked a patient, "How did you get here? What was the nature of your illness?" He got the following reply.

"Well, it all started when I got married and I guess I should never have done it. I married a widow with a grown daughter who then became my stepdaughter.

My dad came to visit us, fell in love with my lovely stepdaughter, then married her. And so my stepdaughter was now my stepmother. Soon, my wife had a son who was, of course, my daddy's brother-in-law since he is the half-brother of my stepdaughter, who is now, of course, my daddy's wife.

So, as I told you, when my stepdaughter married my daddy, she was at once my stepmother! Now, since my new son is brother to my stepmother, he also became my uncle. As you know, my wife is my step-grandmother since she is my stepmother's mother. Don't forget that my stepmother is my stepdaughter. Remember, too, that I am my wife's grandson.

But hold on just a few minutes more. You see, since I'm married to my step-grandmother, I am not only the wife's grandson and her hubby, but I am also my own grandfather. Now can you understand how I got put in this place?"

After staring blanky with a dizzy look on his face, the psychiatrist replied: "Move over!"

Do NOT worry my friend. That fear is not a bad thing.

I believe any one who fears going to hell will NOT go to hell, even if they are not yet "saved" today.

Remember Jesus was most critical of the self-righteous religious folks.

Read the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican, for example.

He said, another time, "Many will knock on the door and say 'Lord, Lord', and I will answer 'I never knew you..."

By the same token, I believe those who wonder if they are crazy are the sanest ones around !!!

Think about it.

You know a "crazy" when you meet some one who thinks they are totally normal & sane.

Now THAT is a scary thought.

Every Napoleon, in the nearest hospital's psych ward, has absolutely NO doubts about his own sanity!!! Just ask him.

I was visiting some one, who knew me very well, in the local hospital's psych ward one day, when I was told that I was "an impostor". It was both scary and funny, as crazy folks often are!!!

When the doctor was thinking of releasing her, I told him that she thought I was an impostor.

He tried to reassure her, in his most authoritative "doctor's voice". It did not change her opinion. She replied to her doctor, "Do YOU have any ID?"!

When you think you are a bit crazy, you may be right; but you are still likely the sanest person on this sin cursed planet of ours!!! That's why Jesus warned us to remove the speck in our own eye instead of fixing others.
