Although the favorite sport is soccer, Morocco has always been producing top athletes in specialities such as 1500m-5000m, 10 000 m and marathon..
The most famous athletes are certainly :
- Said Aouita
- Hicham El Guerrouj
- Nawal Al Moutawakil
-...and many others
Soccer is well spread but suffers from the lack of infrastructure, probably the best moroccan soccer player is Larbi Ben Mbarek (Atletico Madrid player in the 40s/50s of last century)..
