i asked a question about my husband telling his mom he was thinking about giving my car to her and she descided that meant she could pick it up the next day. finding out i was losing my car before our new one was picked upset me. some one told me to obeymy husband! i care for our 3 kids. clean our house, cook all our meals, wait on him hand and foot, i take the money he earns and pay all the bills and buy all the food we need! then i give him what is left and if i feel i want or need something more i ask him because i respect him. i have more than earned my car and the van he is buying to make room for our 4th baby. mark and i discussed what to do with the car when i get the van and he expressed a desire to keep the car for himself to drive back and forth to work while he rebuilds his truck.....something he has wanted to for a while. i agreed with that because he loves that truck and wants it to look awsome! i think i have done well in my efforts to obey and respect him.....

i dont' know?

and we aren't here to "obey" anyone else, anyway... that's rediculous...

marriage is a give and take, and looks to me, as if you are both trying.

except for the car situation.

There is a BIG difference between OBEY and RESPECT. I think you should respect your husband, but I cannot agree with the OBEY part. You are an adult. You do not have rules and regulations when it comes to a relationship with another adult, whether it be your husband or anyone else. And you shouldn't think that you have to "earn" a vehicle from him. He is your partner and he should want to do those kind of things for you out of respect. When I said my wedding vows, I said HONOR. That is a whole different thing than obey. Sorry, but the whole thing about a woman having to obey her husband just gets me a little upset. I think it is all about love, respect, and honor.

Whether or not you 'obey your husband' what year is it? If you still believe in obeying your husband and traditional gender roles, you have absolutely no right to complain when things don't go your way. Tradition dictates that you're just a lowly woman, n incubator for future generations. As a woman you are nothing, at least traditionally. Act like a doormat and get treated like one. You show people how to treat you and from your description you're just asking for it from your husband.

why do you give a shyt what anyone else other that your husband and kids think about you?
But that is not what you asked....what you asked is what gives someone else the right to say that to you and the answer is YOU DID!!!!
yep, that is not what you want to hear but please accept responsibility for this.... No one would have been able to say that shyt to you if you had not been crying to them about your husband and your car.....
Probably what happened is that you were complaining to someone about your husband giving your car away and they didnt give you the response you wanted....
Lesson learned
KEEP FAMILY BUSINESS TO YOURSELF!

Can't you understand who ever said that that they were probably being sarcastic. Don't take it so personally that's what they want. And have you ever heard of Freedom of Speech!!
