This is for the gba version.
When you are capturing monsters, do you catch all the different kinds for them? and how do you get their abilities, do they just come with them? And can I morph into a monster and use a ability on a blue mage for blue magic?
A site will suffice.

you should catch every kind. hunters cannot use the soul orbs that they leave, but morphers can. the more monsters you capture, the more useful your morpher will be. [source link 1]
a beastmaster is also pretty much necessary to force monsters to perform certain attacks on blue mages [source link 2]
i don't know if a morpher can teach a blue mage anything - i forget

Honestly I have no clue. I didn't really capture monsters when I played through, but look it up at www.gamespot.com
