my sister's compaq laptop completely crashed this morning. my mom the whiz she is was able to restore everything (it's amazing i know!) the problem is my sister's desktop is huge..like the font is big and everything on a website or program doesn't fit to be the size of the screen and there is no scroll option to move it over either. now we've tried right clicking and going into the desktop options but that doesn't solve the problem. does anyone know how to make the screen normal size for her?

Click on Desktop on blank area then right click. Go to properties and display settings, there are options as 600 x 800 pxls or 1024 x768 options. Slide on which is better and click apply.

If this can't do reinstall video card on your right OS flatform base.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like when your Mom restored your computer the graphics drivers were not loaded ... go to "Device manager" click on your "Display Adapter" and either Update or Reinstall the drivers for the graphics adapter ... if you let it search for drivers it should find them ok ... otherwise visit the Microsoft Update site and it should find a set of drivers for your graphics ... Good Luck :)

Should be easy, she just had a few settings changed, first, change your screen resolution, then change you text size.
Enable scrolling in mouse setting
Maybe change the screen width on the monitor.

All of these instructions should be on the help and support center.

You probably need to install graphics drivers for that laptop. Try going to the manufacturer's website or do a google search.
