my friend was playing and he said it was fun.

do you know what it is? or maybe any games like that?

you're describing a MUD. it's like this rpg, where you are a person, and there are pretty much no real goals.

for years, i played at ageofdragons mud ( http://www.ageofdragons.com/ ) and if anyone watched me play, they would see nothing but tons of words flashing on the computer faster than i could possibly read them (because i chose that speed)

there is nothing but text - but if i was you, i would not use telnet - you can get free clients to view everything, telnet is just sloppy

Text based mmogs. . . Ogame. . . TribalWars and travian sort of are. . .I guess Nationsstates would be. . . Don't think these are what you are looking for though....
