My ex father-in-law back,in 2005,started a huge custody battle between myself & my ex husband. He called CPS & accused my husband of molesting my daughters(because my oldest daughter told HIM,the grandfather, not to touch her). Meanwhile he came to us & said my ex husband had made the report & that he was now getting an attorney to take away the children & to immedietly seek an attorney & get the kids back immedietly(They were on a month long summer visit w/their dad). He helped them financialy get their attorney(We just recently found out) & then came to us continuously & told us everything they were going to do. Recently we discovered that he had been using meth that whole time & there is a good possibility that HE(the grandfather/ex- father-in-law) molested my daughters. He has admitted to playing us against one another but wouldn't say why. Is what he did illegal? His signiture is on the retainers fee agreement yet he"Ratted them out"every time. His attorney isn't aware he did this.

Also, HE(the grandfather/ex father-in-law) is the ONLY one who wasn't investigated in the case and he called the social workers assigned to the case every day. Because he too works for the state, I think they let that slip by un noticed. He also has a masters in psycology. All of these little details but this is all so disturbing and I'm just not sure what to make of it all. What are my rights, what can I do, etc.

Is it illegal? I don't think so -- only the attorney can really make that determination -- but, I don't think that it's illegal for him to go behind anybody's back and help somebody else . . . it may be detrimental to his credibility -- and it ought to be brought to somebody's attention (I'd bring it to YOUR attorney's attention, if you have one that's involved in the case -- because that could be used to impeach him. . . or in other words, could be used to demolish is credibility).

If you think that your father-in-law has molested your children, why is it that YOU haven't reported the suspicion to CPS? Failure to do that, when you have reason to believe that the acts have taken place may leave you criminally liable.

Your first priority is your children. Protect them... then worry about who said what to whom about what and their panties. . . or whatever the case may be.

Get a restraining order against him (grandfather, x father in law) whatever you want to call him) Get away from him and get your kids as far away from him as possible, if he did molested your daughters of course is illegal, if he did not, the fact that he played you, should be enough for you to try and get as far away from him as possible, that man is sick and corrupted, and thoroughly unethical; your daughters deserve a better role model in their lives. And a better family member.

This is very complicated. Talk to your attorney and the authorities.
