Mine were dont cheat, dont lie to me, spend at least 20 minutes a day together talking to each other and remember your happiness is directly dependent on my happiness and visa/vera - None of them seemed to get past #1 and #2 I have made bad choices, even though the men I became involved with werent a "certain type". Had 2 admit they totally lied about what they were like and what they were interested in so I would go out with them. Whats the point in misrepresenting yourself ? The last one claimed to love dancing, going out to concerts, the symphony, art shows, sailing, music, cooking and not one word was true. So the dont lie one has hooped pretty well all of them - and yes I HAVE learned NOT to just trust or believe what people say ALL relationships have "rules" and "expectations" just because you dont have them engraved on stone and hand them to your SO doesnt mean they DONT exist. Everyone has an expectation of their partner, which meets one of their "personal rules" of things they require in a relationship. Its unfortunate some people have to be told their behavior isnt acceptable and doesnt meet "basic" expectations, but some people DONT know how to have a relationship having never had any good role models while growing up and dont even understand that faithfulness and honesty are "BASIC" expectations

I was not aware that there were relationship rules. I would assume how one relates to other's are taught through watching your parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, friends and neighbors. What is acceptable is dictated by family norm and by society.
