Had my grandchildren both in my car. Was driving from their house to the motel where they were going to stay with me overnight. It was about 8:30 PM or so. I decided to go around the residential areas of the city, and look at the Christmas lights on lawns. There was a car that came up behind me, and I felt it was too close to my rear bumper. So, I tried to get closer to the side of the road, so it could go past me.

Other car didn't pass. Stayed on my tail. I got to an area where there was a lot of ice by the road's edge. So, I moved further out onto the road. Soon as I'd passed the ice, I went back to the edge.

I wanted to go down this little side street, but the car behind was so close, I was afraid it would hit me if I braked to turn. I'd already had my turn signal on. So, I didn't turn there.
I turned a block later. Other car, still tight on my tail, turned, too.

I wanted to double back on the next street down, to see some pretty lights. But now I am

very nervous about this tailgater. My grandson suggested that we should call 911, but I was shy about doing that.

I turned again, so did car behind me. I went down 3 blocks, turned, other car veered off. New car behind me. Grandson said new car was police.

Another block, police car hit their lights, pulled me over.

Cop comes over to tell me I'd been reported as possible drunk. Weaving in traffic. Apparently, I'd gone to the side and half off roadway a couple of times. Other car had called 911 on me.

AAAAUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

I said we wanted to look at Christmas lights, cop let me go, no ticket.

Today, I discovered that the other car was my daughter's sister in law. She saw me pull off to the side, called 911. The 911 operator told her to follow me, to direct the cop car to my location.

Yeah, but I bet she wasnt told to tailgate me that close

Funny part... this woman had a teenager in the car. She'd been driving the girl home when they saw my car.

Today, that teen was riding to my daughter's for dinner, (relatives of my son in law). She was telling her Mom about the drunk they'd helped cops catch the night before.

She even remembered, & told her Mom the drunk's license plate. Mom pulled into the drive behind my car, and Mom asked "Do you mean this car? This one has that same plate number."

Now, this kid has to come in & face the "drunk". Few minutes later, the sister in law comes for dinner, & has to face me, too!!

haha That's funny how it turned out. I probably would have called the police and told them about the car. You never know what might happen. There was a story about this girl driving at night and an unmarked police car turned on its lights to pull her over. She wasnt sure if it was a cop so she called the police. They said they didn't have anyone at her location so she just kept going and the car eventually gave up and stopped following her. Turns out there had been a guy on the loose posing as a cop in his car to stop women and rape them! Thankfully she had called the police first.

Well I didn't seem to get the whole story. But from what I have read, it would be a good idea to stay in the lighted areas and if you have a cell phone, call the police. Its better to be safe than sorry.
