My sister in law often says stuff that isn't true. It drives me crazy. They are not earth shattering lies but they are definitely not true. The main reasons I believe that she (and most other people) lies is to make themselves look better or to tell you what you want to hear. Neither of which are really helpful in todays world.
Be happy with who you are and tell the truth not what you think people want to hear.
The only time I would not to that is if the truth is really going to 'hurt' people but then again if they find out the truth later on and know you lied to them it can be worse again.

last night matter of fact.. here is what happened..
my guy lives an hour away.. i called him to tell him i was in town and on my way to his house.. i checked his phone and saw he called an old friend not even two minutes after i called him.. me and him have had problems with her calling his phone. I know he called her to tell her not to call because i would be there.. he then told me that it must have been an accident... the funny thing is that her name isnt programmed in the phone..so he expected me to believe that he actually just accidentally dialed all seven number, which was hers by mistake.... c'mon... im not that dumb.

Within this year most notably.
I broke up with my last girlfriend because i thought she was lying to me about something not so important.
I thought she was telling a lie because we were arguing about something and i noticed an inconsistency with her statements.
To me, this indicated she was making something up just to be right.
That was the pivotal moment in why we broke up.

She had told someone else in the office she was doing one thing for the holiday, and me something else entirely. Was just kind of evasive and vague,,,,, makes you wonder why since she didn't have to volunteer any info.

Today a so called friend told a few of us he had a 64 GTO in nitrogen so it wouldn't rust.

one friend said that my ex-bf told her he loved her. i thought she was lieing because when we were together he said he hated her. and she tries to act as if shes better than me.
