Rock in all its forms is much better than rap. I know a lot of people love it, but it sucks. It takes absolutely no talent to write a rap 'song'. You pick a word, write short lines that rhyme with that word. The lines don't have to make sense, they don't even have to go together. That's one type of rap. The other type, you write three to four lines at most, repeat those lines over and over and sample in some famous guitar riffs (from Rock). No talent needed.

ROCK! The songs always have a deeper meaning and it is actual music that the people sit and take time to write the music, and not take just an hour to make little beats on a beat machine, rap is also degrading to women and petty rhymes.

I don't think one is better than the other but I just like rap more. Rock is cool with me, but I just listen to more rap.

Rock because it takes music skills to make rock. Anybody, given a note-card can practice rap until they can make it flow. There's no singing in rap.

Rock, because most rock music is better (takes more skill to create) than most rap.
However, some rap is very intelligently written, and I would love to learn how to write it, myself.

I personally prefer rap over rock. I guess it's because I love the beats and skill that it takes. I also like how a lot of the songs are said from experience. By no means am I saying that people who play rock music have no skill, so don't get me wrong. I guess the bigger reason perhaps is because I live in the Bay Area. The people that I'm surrounded by listen to it...it's become a large part of my "culture." I just love it. Though, I do get annoyed at all of the references to "bitches" and "hoes."
