Scary, there is no seperation between church and state. And everyone seems to be a Christian. The reason that's scary is it gives people in power a sence that they can do anything (ie Bush) and it's the will of God. Power corrupts. We are in trouble. Anyone get me?

Definitely. Church, Christianity and the "divine" will many feel they have is terrifying to me. The lack of seperation of religion and government is ridiculous in the states. It frustrates me to no end that many laws and ideas are censored or approved because of Christian belief. I am not religous so religion should not be dictating my life. Take the Commandments out of the courts, take the Bible out of the courts, take the Bible out of law making and debate. The religions are terribley corrupted and we bring that corruption and close mindedness to our government...Ahh!

Well Steve, very few candidates for President ever have NOT been Christians. This year, they seem to be wearing it "on their sleeves", so to speak. The only problem I see with the debates is (1) that they include all the "nobodies" who really have no chance of getting elected and dilute the time frame available to the real candidates, (2) the questions insult the intellegence of the votors and perhaps the candidates if they were honest enough to say so, and (3) the candidates know that other than saying the usual platitudes that the real results lie with the primaries.

I have watched all the debates that were available during the evening. Hopefully I will be watching the final NH debates after carrying a sign outside the studio on Jan 5th.

I also dislike seeing the politicians pandering to religious voters. The Christmas commercials are only the latest example of this type of BS.

What debate?

What is really scary is that Guiliani said that "Freedom" is about authority? Or, that Paul wants to abolish the IRS? Or, that Rodham wants to put the nation on welfare? And that they all profess to believe in God? Morality and its position in politics is rough. Some of us are aware, like all of us, that we are in trouble. I am getting you. Merry Christmas by the way.

Yep, loud and clear. Religion is a wonderful thing but it's got no place in Washington unless it is used only to guide your moral compass.
