I get flamed everytime I post about Obama's "blackness". The following is from his own church's website. Please explain how this is NOT racist. Here's your test, take out the word black and replace it with white. Re-read it and tell me it's not racist.

Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:

Commitment to God
Commitment to the Black Community
Commitment to the Black Family
Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
Disavowal of the Pursuit of “Middleclassness”
Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System

Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.
Do you think that if Mitt Romney’s local church talked about the White Community, White Institutions, and the White Value System that it would have gotten more attention from the Liberal Media than this has?

It's because of the way you treat others, that others treat you this way.

You didn't like my little poem, so you reported me. You claim your man supports the Constitution, but you certainly don't want me to have my First Amendment rights, do you?

Donna.....As always...you are completely correct !! Hypocrisy is so rampant in our society that Blacks often get a PASS on virtually EVERYTHING .---Jesse Jackson called NYC " HYMIETOWN " but NOBODY CARED !!!! Al Sharpton falsely accused Steven Pagones of raping Tawanna Brawley & Pagones won a 5 Million Dollar Civil Suit against Al 20 years ago. Al never paid a penny to Pagones but NOBODY CARED !!!! The FBI has multiple videotapes of Al Sharpton offering to sell cocaine to an FBI Undercover agent but NOBODY CARED !!! ---- Imus was tossed off the radio after he used the word " nappy "; but rappers use the " n " word ( even call themselves " NWA " a/k/a "Ns " With an Atitude ") but NOBODY CARED !!!!----I am tired of hearing crap about what happened before I was born 150 years ago-- I am concerned with the White Racists & Black Racists that exist today.---Obama's Church IS Racist & , as you indicated, if the word " White " was substituted for " Black "----Sharpton + Jackson + Obama would all be marching in the streets.

i mean he never lived with his african (not african american) father and was raised by a white mother, while i don't support him, i don't see how he could be a racist, i agree with u on the mitt romney thing, and it has been brought up that the mormons at 1 point did not allow black people, much more than this has been brought up so i agree with u on that, also there is the difference that black people are the oppressed minority, not the historical oppressor, so a church trying to empower an oppressed people (in a black community) is viewed as less racist, organizations that support him such as the nation of islam are racist, but even if the church he attends is racist, i doubt he has anything against white people

I think the Masked Crusader summed it up for you quite acurately.
I will add to that that there is nothing racist in promoting pride in self. A big difference than promoting someone else as inferior.(that would be racist). You list the churches principles and they just about mirror what I see every "pull yourself up by your bootstrap" "this is what's wrong with those people" "i'm not racist but they should do for themselves" ranter claims blacks should be and are not doing. So what is your problem? You don't want us to promote a strong sense of community and family so that you can continue to piss and moan that we don't?

Yes, this church is racist. Obama is a member of this church so one assumes he agrees with it and so is a racist. We still have racist people in the world, and apparently always will.

Technically, Wafflehouse, racism doesn't have to be about bringing other races down. It just has to be about treating one race differently than another. The only question is, are they treating this as a racial thing, or a cultural thing? Some blacks don't see themselves as a race, but as a culture. It's iffy either way.

For myself, I don't believe that they were trying to make it about race. I can certainly see how it looks that way. When it comes to church matters and religion, I don't like to look at things in terms of race, culture, creed, or politics; especially not politics. I wish they would find a way to reword their creed, but it seems to me more of a cultural preservation. That, I do not believe belongs in religion. But it's not racist.

On the other hand, isn't it illegal for a non-profit organization, such as a church, to endorse a particular political figure? I'm not saying Barack Obama's church is endorsing him, necessarily, but that "pledge allegiance to Black leaders" certainly seems about half a step back.

And by the way, the LDS Church (aka Mormon) has always strictly maintained political neutrality in every election this country has ever had. Anyone who thinks otherwise, just ask yourself if Harry Reid would endorse Mitt Romney.

Well, Huckabee gets bashed for having Christian ideals. Why doesn't Obama get bashed for having overly-black ideals? Sadly, the majority of black politicians are liberal, and therefore cling to these outdated "black power" ideals. Obama is just following suit. Until the general black consensus stops using their race as a crutch and advances in this country like every other minority group has, Obama will be granted impunity, while Huckabee, Paul, etc. will not.

Race is irrelevant. He's a lib. Actually, Obama exists as a candidate to provide the illusion that Hillary has an opponent. Were he not dark-complected, nobody would be paying any attention to him, he's too new and has no track record.

So why does this matter? Are you afraid Obama will enslave the white folks after he takes office? How much damage to our civil liberties could he do in 4 years? More or less than Bush?

Is it racist..obviously..And Im not even white..

But what people fail to realize is that he'll already be under a microscope as far as his decisons involving race..Compared to a white president he'll have LESS flexibilty doing things specifically for African Americans because he'll be perceived as racist for doing it. So it nothing to worry about.
