It depends where in KC.

Yes but I would still live in the surrounding area and work and play in the city. The metro area is hard to tell where it stops and starts but if you want to live in the city itself it would depend on your situation. If you are young and affluent the plaza area is great, more affordable is Westport, there are even some great lofts for sale and rent downtown The Brookside and waldo area are "artsy" City Market would be a fun place to live if you worked close and didn't have a car. If you have school age children I would go to Kansas City North not to be mistaken for North Kansas City which used to be a "working class" area but has gotten rough the Ruskin, south Kansas City area is fast becoming a ghetto filled with drugs and crime. Keep your kids out of the Kansas City Mo schools if you go North they will be in either the NKC schools or Gladstone both are better the KCMO the Center School District is not so great anymore. Hope this helped but now I have forgotten your question? Oh yes KC is the best town in the Midwest except Chicago is more fun!!!

kansas city, mo is not anymore dangerous than anywhere else. if a person wants to act crazy and do something it can happen any and everywhere. it is just how people say things about such as its the "ghetto", those people are just ignorant! it is just a sign of the times, EVERYWHERE IS DANGEROUS!

I have lived in KC,MO my whole life (I'm 35) and there are a few areas of the town where it is kinda creepy but it is not any more dangerous then anywhere else.

Anything between Holmes and Raytown can be dangerous. Anything east of Downtown can be really dangerous. Other than that it's a relatively safe city.

Of course there are neighborhoods and streets that have more crime but bad things happen everywhere...I think a lot of it has to do with who your friends are and who your enemies are. If you stay to yourself and don't cause any problems with anyone, your chances of being in danger are pretty much the same in KCMO as they are in a small town somewhere.

Pretty dangerous if great bar-b-q and steak, awsome sports teams, great malls, stores, shops, spas, parks, amazing art, great history, nice people, movie therters, fun things to do, and cool music is what you call dangerous.

I've lived here all my life (32 years) and have been very fortunate! I stay safe. (knock on wood)

There are ways to prevent danger.
Nothing good happens after mid-night.
Choose wisely your friends and your activities!
