We are no longer mad at Julus Caesar or Napoleon for all the things they've done. Why are we still mad at Hiter such a long time after his death? Why can't we joke about him or show some support like we do to Napoleon or Julius?

Well, first off Hitler was a monster, Napoleon and Julius Ceasar were simply dictators. Also, we're still within a single life time of Hitler's time, that's not that long. There are people alive today that were directly impacted by Hitler's actions. I'm sure after a few hundred years even he will not be so actively reviled.

Because Julius Caesar and Napoleon Bonaparte were never responsible for the deaths of millions of Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc.

Sure, they may have had a bad side to them, but they are nowhere near as bad as Hitler or even Stalin for that matter.

It's like comparing apples to oranges.

Because he caused the death of 9 million people in Europe just for being different than he. For making his armies go into Poland, Austria, and cause havoc.

Though the real reason, is what I first stated, The Holocaust. The methodical, cattle-like slaughtering of millions of jews, homosexuals, jehovah's witness, gypsies, etc. He is one of the worst figures in the World's history, I would not compare Napoleon, or Caesar to Hitler ever.

One thing is to kill people in battle, because you are superior to them in battle, but to kill one in such a way. To torture, to physically cause pain, and give them little to no food while you prepare the gas chambers for them and later use their flesh for lamp shades. That I do not think any other person can compare to. Maybe certain individuals in history, Ivan the Terrible, and several others. Caesar and Napoleon unified a nation, and might have claimed land for themselves, but they did not kill in concentration camps. Nationalism and Hitler's Evil brain, are two very different ideologies. And If I were you, I would not ask that question to anyone who has Hebrew ancestry, because it might be thought as a bit racist to some.

People like to have a figure they can hold up as unequivocally evil, without having to really think about it much. it makes them feel like they have a handle on things.

Now if some other leader rose up, as murderous as Hitler and as charismatic in relation to the cultural bias of the given observer, a lot of these same people would sign up to follow that guy and swear they were doing God's work, of course. Just like the Germans who followed Hitler did.

But never mind that. The illusion of righteousness is everything.

You want an honest answer?

He attacked the Jewish people. They hold a lot of influence in the media, so they will attack him and his legacy to no end. I took history classes, the Holocaust wasn't the only genocide, and it wasn't the worst. Plus, I will guarantee you anyone would commit genocide if they were given the chance. It's one thing to condemn the act, it's another to actually live life and deal with a group of people making your life hell, or just plain aggravating.

A nation of millions backed Hitler, so I don't think he was as loony as he was made out to be. Obviously, he must have held some credence.

I am not a Hitler supporter, I'm just stating the facts.

2000 years after the death of Judas Iscariot why is he still so widely hated? It is because of the magnitude of his crime, eh?
