When people's lives are disrupted and harmed by another person, it's easy to seek vengence, to want to "get even." But "Vengence is mine, saith the Lord." We are asked to forgive (but we're not asked to forget; that's God's job!) We may need to remember in order to protect ourselves from vulnerability and possible further harm from an evil person. Revenge is never the answer. God will judge the righteous and the unrighteous. We are expected to live our lives with the goal being to spend eternity in the presence of God; in other words, we run the good race; finish the course; and fight the good fight for the Lord without falling into sin.
