So my birthday is coming up (January 10th) and ALL I want is a black 13" MacBook. But my mom recently announced one of her friends was told there is going to be a new release of MacBooks, a thinner version.
Does anyone know if this is FOR SURE true? And if so, will it be out by my birthday?

I understand about why I should buy a white MacBook, but all of my friends that have them say after a while, the white starts to become yellow and just plain disgusting; and they've shown me how it looks. I definitely don't want that happening. Thanks for the thought though!

it is only a rumor. however, do wait for the announcement. Technology changes fast, but Apple introduces new configurations of their products faster that the rest of the industry does. Usually that happens during Macworld. When, im not sure, ask the Mac Fans.
i suggest to buy the second release of the new configuration or product. usually the new product or configuration has a bug or lacks something, or just has a problem. That gets fixed when the second version of that configuration or product is released.

as cool as the black macbook may look, it's not worth your money. it's essentially almost identical to the white one with equivalent specifications, except it's $200 more. whether you're happier with the black one and $200 less or $200 in pocket and a white one, it's up to you, but it's just something else to consider.

Seeing as they just released OS leopard, I doubt they'll release a brand new model. If they were going to do it so close together, it seems to me they would have released both at the same time.

oh men! i want a macbook too! but i'm now hesitating....to be sure, just buy a macbook on feb or march.. i'll just be waiting, i don't like to regret.
