It was interesting, when my mother decided to leave and go home. She finally spoke out that she hated being told to shut up (when we asked her to stop with the stories). I think we hurt her feelings for a long time and she couldn't take it any longer.
This is a day of giving, and she gave, even if it hurt to spend all the money for the gifts, as she always does. I feel terrible and yet I learned a good lesson today. My mother loves me, and sometimes I assume I can push the limits of whatever. I will never do this again. She counts more than anything I can think of, and I share this with you, so you won't make the same mistakes.
Mothers are sensitive when we get married and leave the nest. We are the men she raised, the best hearts she can form are her sons . . . and I appreciate her more than any woman on the earth, thus, I need to show her this, always, and my wife will need to get it, or be *ss out.
I can not imagine Jesus being as hurtful to his mother Mary. I am ashamed.

Super in being with my family and doing traditional stuff... Sucky right now that I'm home because it's my second Christmas as a divorcee and I feel so dang alone. I've had a few moments where I cried by myself, I tried to call my ex and wish him merry christmas, didn't happen. Oh well, super for most all of the day :)

Christmas has been overly commercialized to the point where the true meaning of it has been lost amid ideas that secular man has created. The birth of Christ is the true significance of this day. However, it has become a mad rush to compete for the brightest lights, the most toys, the best clothing, the most spending and even the teachings of Christ have been discarded with all of the rushing, pushing, shoving, abuse of handicapped parking spaces, shoplifting, purse snatching, lying and inhumanity that we see every time we approach December 25, which is NOT the date on which Jesus Christ was born, according to the Jewish calendar anyway.
It magnifies the sadness of anyone who has lost loved ones or who lacks true social and emotional support systems because its true meaning has been prostituted. (SUCKY!)

I wanted to do something simple and fun..maybe just a drink or visit to renew old close ties. My friend convinced me that he doesn't believe in celebrating Christmas and I respect him a lot and followed his lead. I am alone in a different country, but as my neighbors had loud celebrations, it was distracting and depressing. My friend had come by earlier to take a hot shower and left (looking fine!) in my car, telling me he had an early morning of work. He borrowed my car. I had to pick up my car today because of his 3 day trip (work related-true) and found confetti in the back area and kids candy in the door pockets. I am upset because he is my best friend and I changed my tradition out of respect for him and he lied to me. It sucks, because I gave him a large cash gift and he gave me his "undying friendship and caring!" I thot we were best friends, but I have been sad and hurt. yea, it sucks and I don't know why.

Everything was good!
My daughter and her husband walked in at 8 am from a 100 miles drive to get here.
The dinner I made turned out great.
The gifts were great.
We went to vistit grandma and great grandma who is almost 98 years old.
My step nephew, who is in the army in Iraq, has a webcam now so I got to see him. Haven't seen him in about 5 years. He lives about 1000 miles away. It was really neat seeing someone on the other side of the earth.

This Christmas was wonderful. Last year, I'd lost my father just a few days before Christmas. This year, I'm a mother of a new baby, getting ready to build a new home, and owe less on it than I did the house I just sold! Family, friends, and guests were happier, and life is wonderful now! Attitude, faith, and love brought all of this together!
