I felt the same as your boyfriend for a while but he might pull out of it. I did. My parents divorced (very ugly) after 43 yrs of marriage & 50 total yrs together. It was the most emotionally draining thing I've ever been through & was definitely a turn off to marriage entirely. Once it was done & there was no communication anymore between parties, my mom & I settled back into life & I became less bitter on the subject. But also my sister has been divorced 3 x's, my boss is going into her 4th marriage so it just left a really ugly taste in my mouth. Just give him some time. I'm getting married in a few weeks & couldn't be happier but I never thought I would say that.

I am dating someone who doesn't want to marry, which is great because we think similarly in regards to marriage at least, that it's perhaps a nice thought, but is mainly for legal purposes and not at all necessary if one wishes to be truly committed.

No because I want to marry and that was the intended purpose for dating someone...to see if they could possibly be your husband or wife.

I think I am doing that now. He has been married before and we've been together for six and a half years and I think he has permanently cold feet.

Yes...
There are so many factors in play here though..
What if there is some trauma between the two of us that has led him to that..
What if there is some trauma in his own life...
Too many factors in my universe to be able to judge correctly.
