I have a recipe & i'm sure it the ice cream will melt.At a 500 degree oven, how not??

It has an insulating layer of meringue foam covering it. The meringue will bake from the oven heat before the heat gets through to the ice cream. When the meringue is brown you take it out and the ice cream is safe and the dessert is ready to eat.
