I just received this as a gift for Christmas. I was told that it was very expensive and gave the impression of wealth in Africa. We had a forty dollar limit on our gifts but i am not sure if that is what this is worth. Please tell me if this has any value or if it is just a " regift".

I doubt it has much re-sale value. It is pretty simple beading, and the beads don't look special in any way. It's often the way with jewellery. My mother spent over $100 on a ring that a jeweller wouldn't give me anything for.

You ask if you should re-gift it, and I say yes.

A forty dollar limit is an upper limit, not an obligation. You're trying to make sure they spent the whole forty on you?

Selling a gift is crass. Just re-gift or take it to Goodwill.
