The idea of God hating anyone is totally against Christianity. Even if homosexuality is considered a sin (I don't feel this way), the whole "hate the sin, love the sinner" thing should apply.

The "Fall from Grace" movie is a documentary of the Phelps cult and the God Hates Fags and other hateful signs that these misguided sheep wave at military funerals and elsewhere.
Any person that proclaims that their God hates is obviously breaking up to 4 of the 10 commandments. The true God is a loving God, not one of hate. They can go on believing in their "God", and they will answer for that.
The "Bible" , in my view, is a very well written piece of fiction, that is loosely based on hearsay facts.
My belief in God is not based on any book. My God is not found only in a church. My God would never hate anyone or anything.
The words on signs or shouted spewing hatred are always going to be there as long as there are people with hate in their hearts. I feel sorry for these people. Hatred is a terrible seed to have in your heart and soul. It grows inward and and outward , destroying you and others.

Well, The fact that people believe that God hates any person is wrong to begin with. God created us all and loves us no matter who, what or your choices in life are. If you worship him and have faith God is a forgiving God. At least that is what is scripted in the Bible. The Bible has been changed in time and you can give it to 100 different people and get 100 different interpretations.
Does it not say in the bible that we should not Judge one another also. People who hate others for being different have their own fears that they may turn out the same way or have had thoughts of that lifestyle and become homophobic.
All that I can say is that I was raised in a Catholic household and I was always taught to respect my elders. Everyone is equal and Love God for he loves all his children.

exciting question, i think of. i'd like to describe the Christian perspective, if i ought to. My place on this is that the word has grow to be a splash cliched - however the assumption at the back of this is powerful. i think of there are a pair of the right thank you to seem at it. the 1st is how God pertains to human beings (and that i'm speaking on the topic of the Christian God right here). formerly you grow to be a Christian you, maximum probable, have some sin on your existence. The Bible says "all have sinned and fallen in need of God's standards". so as that individual is a sinner. yet by some ability, that individual can journey some thing of the affection of God and grow to be a Christian. There are nicely-familiar examples, as an occasion John Newton, who became a slave dealer, yet got here across God, and ended up writing considered one of our appropriate familiar Hymns, magnificent Grace. Did God hate the sin? specific - slave figuring out to purchase and advertising is abhorrent to God. of path God hates that. Did God hate John Newton? No, truthfully no longer - God confirmed His love in that mutually as we've been nevertheless sinners Christ died for us and in a million John 4 is says we like becuase God enjoyed us first. the 2nd way is how we relate to others. Now I start up off by utilising saying we Christians are far from suitable, yet taking God as our place kind, we ought to consistently be loving the guy. in fact human beings. In my small way I practice this - i attempt to stay it out. yet another theory in this is that its no longer what we try this reasons God to love us - its what we are. we are man or woman, created interior the image and likeness of God. this is why He loves us - because of the fact we are people, no longer human doings ;) variety regards, Mike

I kinda started a question about this...A church names Westboro Baptist Church is responsible for it.
I think it's taking one simple Biblical statement and magnifying it to you're own needs...
That church believes that ALL earthly disasters (be it man caused or natural) all tie back to homosexuals. No where in the Bible does it say that all disasters are caused by being gay. The Bible does give vivid detail on how sinners are punished...but no one sin is greater than another...God doesn't hate the sinner...just the sin...it's so weird cause i'm gay...and i'm calling myself a sinner is some aspects...but...i know God loves me...

It all stems from some passages in the bible were the writer., who was probably a closet homosexual, says that it is against god's will or some such nonsense to be homosexual. Of course the writer did not know that homosexuality is a natural condition and now it is in the bible you get the Christians bouncing about saying it's a sin or some such rubbish.

im pretty sure they have a good reason to support that.
maybe theyve researched into it and found out that the gays are the causes of poverty, AIDS, malaria, floods, droughts, tsunamis, nuclear weapons, hurricane katrina, tsunamis, earthquakes and abortion.
and starting that movement will probably keep it from getting worse. in fact, if it goes on, the gays will take over the world with malaria powered nuclear weapons shooting abortions and poverty inducing natural disasters.
seriously, the God Hates Fags movement is retarded.

Dear Stephanie,
The god of love doesn’t hate… Although her Christians have been known to.
Doctor Dodson and even more so Pastor Frederick Waldron Phelps try to base there arguments on Leviticus 18:22 “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination.” Claming this to be the indisputable “Law of God”.
However reading further into Leviticus we find that…
Women serving in the army are against "Gods law".
Eating pork is against "Gods law".
Owning slaves is perfectly acceptable by "Gods law".
Selling your daughters is also perfectly acceptable by "Gods law".
"God's Law" is really ancient Hebrew lay that was "legitimized" by labeling it "God's Law".
IF it is Phelps’ intent to argue that the biblical condemnation of same-sex couples is the absolute word of God then he needs to accept ALL of the laws it has posted. You don't get it BOTH ways... Well not unless you're bisexual, then you get it both ways I suppose.
And I have yet to see any God fearing Christian down on 8 Mile stoning hookers.
Personally I find the argument that... "The God of love, hates me for loving the wrong person." just plain ludicrous.
I suspect it's more likely that God's "Christians" hate me because "It's all yucky!"... Grow up and love your neighbors as God commanded.
Yours in Christ,
PennyAnn

I'm not offended by it, even though I am gay... I think it's stupid getting offended over words. But I do think it's the most ridiculous statement ever made. Thank you, WBC, for passing this on to new generations. JUST what we needed.

I think its complete stupidity to believe that, i'm catholic and gay, and if they knew anything they'd know that god hates nobody. And how could he hate us because he created us, he created everything, so he also created homosexuals, i don't get why religions can't realise this.
