For me, it was watching an unexpected snow fall begin when
we arrived at our daughters today. A first snowfall at Christmas, we've never seen before. Then after opening our
presents later, it all stopped. The timing was perfect.

My 9month old granddaughter who was born with
radial aplasia affecting both arms, picked up her spoon
and started to feed herself. I watched in amazement and
it made me cry.
I have worried myself sick about what the future holds for her
but already her guts and determination are shining through, she is wonderful.

My friend is very ill in a hospice. She'd said that she just wished that Christmas could be over, because it made her more aware of her circumstances, with everyone else being so jolly, wearing funny hats and so on. Yesterday, we dropped in to see her. While we were there, her partner and two grandchildren came staggering through the door, carrying a fully decorated Christmas tree. It was such a lovely thing for them to do, and her eyes lit up with happiness. A very special moment for a very special lady !

I got to spend some quality time with my in-laws, before all the rowdy's showed up:~)
Even though those who were missing were missed.
Seems all the children had to be with their other parent this Christmas

Smallest Christmas gathering in 15 years, but at least I could get a word in edge wise.

The snowfall must have been gorgeous; and I'm glad you were not on the road at the time!

One of the special things for me was cooking with my 20 year old daughter. She gave me a few things for the kitchen as Christmas gifts, and we used most of them yesterday. We cooked breakfast and dinner together.....it was wonderful to have her sharing the cooking and cleaning duties. We chatted and laughed at our goofs. It touched my heart to see her pride when her 'dishes' came out well. It's been rare for us to have the time to enjoy simple pleasures together.....so I truly appreciate our time cooking yesterday.

Thanks for asking. With all of the running around and baking and wrapping the ups man arrived the other day and a big box was there. It had lotion , perfume, talc, oven mitts, candles,
and sugar cookie, and brownie mix with another big box of budweiser sauces and it was from a freind that I have been freinds with since the age 14. She really remembered me and I mean REALLY because anyone that knows me knows I'd stay in a kitchen forever and I love my baths with candles . I just did a small favor for her recently but to think that she still knew me so well made me for the first time in along time feel like I was "home".

The gorgeous winding mountain drive through ascensions and descensions, tight curves and S-curves, every next vista opening onto another shack or farm, pastures with horses or cows, million dollar subdivisions, cliffs with dripping water and long-abandoned barns, in the Blue Ridge mountains on the way south to see family

I have been wondering how in the heck that I was going to get my parents yard cleaned back up after the ice storm that we had. We had trees, limbs and branches down all over our yard.

The yesterday I could hear chainsaws running out here. It was my nephew and his friend out here sawing and cutting it up. They got all the BIG stuff out of here and now all we have left to do is the little stuff. I was very shocked, surprised and happy that this was going on. It was very much a joy watching all this happen, I even helped out on it.

My niece has been estranged from her parents (my brother and his wife) for several years. She just had her first baby this past week (their first grandchild) and wouldn't even call to tell them. I don't know what transpired but today she let them come over for several hours to see the baby. A true Christmas Miracle.
