Chicken soup or chicken stew (homemade) for colds, flu and fevers.
Fresh cranberry juice for cystitas. We drink around 2 litres in a day for roughly 2-3 days will stop cystitas in its tracks...it works really quickly after the first glassful but drinking a full 2 litres will help clean out your kidneys and bladder.
Homemade honey, lemon and glycerin hot drink for sore throats/colds.
For smelly feet......mix equal quantities of bicarbonate of soda and talcum powder (we have always used Johnsons Baby powder) and sprinkle onto your feet and into your socks. After a couple of days your smelly foot problem will have miraculously disappeared.....never to return!
Tepid water washes to bring down a fever especially in children.
Lemonade with the fizz shaken out of it for upset tummies...it is a palatable way of increasing fluid intake which is so important when the s & d strikes. It settles the tummy nicely too.
Olive oil for very dry skin and especially good for people who are bed or wheelchair bound. It is very good for the prevention of bedsores if used daily.

Well here is one that might surprise you. I know for a fact that this one does work as I have used it for several years.
When you get a yeast infection, yes guys get it to, if you drink Alka-Seltzer it will kill it. The first sign that you are getting the infection, like the burning when urinating, mix the Alka-Seltzer just like it says to on the box and drink it. By the time that you go to urinate again, it has already started killing the infection as the burning is gone. I know that most people think that that stuff taste nasty and it does. But it works so fast and I can deal with a little nasty taste better than I can the pain of the infection. I normally take one dose at the first sign of the infection and then one dose before I go to bed that night. I just follow the directions on the box. It is so much cheaper than what the medicines cost and a whole lot faster by far than they are too.
Oh here is another one that works too. If you get or have a wart, put duct tape on it and it will go away, roots and all.

Chicken soup !!
And btw , it has been scientifically proven to cure or reduce the common cold !!
Yup , research shows that if you drink/eat chicken soup(naturallly made or made with chicken base that has 'chicken' listed as the first ingredient) while still very hot , the vapors from the soup assimilate through the receptors at the roof of your mouth and throat and will cure or reduce the common cold . Many times within 24 hours .
Another good way to take it is to boil a pot of it and breathe it in while havin a towel over your head .

I like the use of teas alot. But all my kids are grown up. I do have a granddaughter living with us. If she runs a fever, we go light on the blankets. Honey for burns. Jewel Weed for Poison Ivy. Gently squeeze the bridge of the nose for clogged nasal passage. Pliers for toothaches. LOL. Just kidding.

The alcohol rub down worked with my two little ones also. And taking them outside in the cool nite air, to help them breathe, when stuffed up worked too.

A friend today just told me one that makes such sense, and worked for her, that it deserves passing around. She had the visual stars occur, the aura before a migraine. Following her friend's advise, she stood in hot water while drinking ice water. The aura ceased, and no migraine ensued. Cooling the upper blood while attracting it lower! Her friend's grandmother had taught it to her.
