First, John York should sell the team. He is doing a horrible job. Eddie DeBartolo should handle the team again with the help of Carmen Policy. York has a horrible time evaluating head coaches(Dennis Erickson, Mike Nolan). Mike Nolan is better suited as a defensive coordinator, he doesnt know how to evaluate coaches, and is a jerk for not being able to hold on to Norv Turner, was it out of his hands...no, the chargers asked for permission from the niners to talk to turner. As much as I dislike Smith, he will be the starting quarterback next year. He needs Mike Nolan to realize that a new offensive coordinator every year messes with his head. Shaun Hill had so much more time to study the offense as he didnt play until week 15. Ted Tolner also came in to help Jim Hostler with the offense, Smith did not have that luxury. If Smith falters next year, Hill will be starting before week 4.

In all fairness to Alex Smith, he has been through real tough times in San Francisco. 1st of all he has had less than greaat recievers each year, and they keep switching. Then he's had 3 offensive coordinators in 3 years, probably will be 4 this offseason. Then he had the shouler injury this year that has been affecting him also. In my opinion, you gotta go with the QB thats winning you games and thats Hill. 2-0 as a starter is fantastic for a QB who's never throne a pass in 6 years in the league. Thats almost 100 NFL Regualr Season games not including the playoffs. So if you ask me? I say Hill for now, as long as he's consistent then I have no problem with Shaun as the QB of the 49ers. :) Cheers!

Shaun Hill should win the job. Hill looks comfortable in the pocket. He throws the ball with accuracy. I like how he leads the receiver into the pass, and the receiver can make yards after the catch. He distributes the ball to the receivers like Jackson and Battle, to tight ends Vernon Davis and Delaney Walker, and to receivers out of the backfield like Frank Gore. Smith either underthrows or overthrows the ball to his receivers. While Hill may not have the credentials that other established quarterbacks have, he is certainly an upgrade over Alex Smith. Any upgrade or advantage you get you should use, and in the 49ers case, the coaches should go with Hill.

Alex Smith was getting better last year with Norv Turner as the Offensive Coordinator. It's tough for a young QB to consistently get better when your coordinator is always changing. The 49ers really missed out when they passed on Brady, that's where Brady wanted to go initially. Now he loves New England. GO PATS!

From what I've seen, only a fool takes Alex Smith over Hill.

Shaun Hill i always thought he was good since his college days at Maryland, I was just wondering when he was going to get his shot, he had to wait a couple of years. Alex Smith is the Kwame Brown of the NFL.

None of them. Alex Smith already had his chances and Shaun Hill won't keep it for a whole season.
Defenses will figure him out next year.

Alex Smith will be the starting quarterback because he was the top draft pick and this season he had to learn a new offense plus he was often injured during the season.
