years ago do you remember taking " cola syrup" to see if your stomach was settled ? Or giving it to your kids? Mine was! If I passed the cola test I could have plain tost w/ plain tea and if I passed again butter on the toast and sugar and cream in the tea!

No, but I remember my little brother was always car sick.
He got to ride in the front seat and eat bananas and drink 7-up. My other brother and I were always mad at him. We thought he was faking to get the goodies and ride up front.

I remember the cola syrup, but when I had a 'rotten' stomach as my Mom would say she would fix up some licorice tea using real licorice and it would settle the stomach just fine. Probably where I developed a taste for Beemon's Black Jack gum as a kid.

I remember getting a little baking soda in cold waster for a sick stomach. No, I'd never get a raw egg. There is a danger of salmonella with that. I also remmber getting a hot toddy too when necessary.

toast or crackers (rusk toast was best) until they settled without a wiggle -- then gradually more substance. Cola syrup was at the drug store for fountain pop.
