Most "h" pipes go right behind the catalytic convertor for dual exhaust pipes.

A capital "H" pipe is rarely used but it usually hooks up to dual pipes coming straight out of the exhaust manifold(s) or headers so that some exhaust can flow left to right. Not sure what good this does except that on exhaust manifolds with the engine pre-heater flap that closes on only one side (typically cylinder bank 2,4,6,8) when the engine is cold to force exhaust gases under and through the intake manifold port and there's extra exhaust gases pouring through the opposite exhaust manifold (typically 1,3,5,7) and some of that gas can escape to the other pipe until this flap opens in the right or other exhaust manifold.

I think I've seen "X" pipes but not sure where you'd use them since a "Y" or "y" pipe is more common.

Good Luck!
