I don't know if I'd call it a formal 'tradition,' but it did always seem to happen when I was a kid. I was already being tickled a lot by my friends anyway, but the holidays would put me in contact with a few cousins who otherwise wouldn't have had the chance.

Thinking back on it now, their perfect memory of how best to tickle me was pretty unbelievable. They'd probably brainstormed with my friends beforehand. Anyway, they always managed to zero in on all the places that made me craziest, right from the beginning.

Only in the very best of circles, I believe. I refer, of course, to the proper sort of Christmas tickle, the version from which someone very lucky might require a considerable period of time to recover. You might think that I'm speaking from experience, but I couldn't possibly comment.
