Are there types of male guppies that will not grow the long flowing tails but keep the shorter but still colorful tails that i could put with my betta without it mistaking them for another betta?

Wild-type guppies, sometimes sold as feeders don't have long tails, but they may not be quite as colorful: http://www.awforum.net/guppy/upguppy/MadGuppy00/200662943118_wild.jpg . But check to see what type of feeder guppies your store sells first - some just sell fancy guppies with defects or that are less colorful.

Another choice would be a fish called an Endler's livebearer: http://aquarich.jp/tsuhan/image/Endlers_Orange2000.jpg These are more colorful, and there's debate over whether these are a different species, or just a color variant of guppies.

Bettas will vary by personality - some may accept guppies, others may not.

precise a guppie can easily stay pregnant for about 21 to 28 days i might say through reality I relatively have 5 guppies desirable now with black gravid component and a few of my others in basic terms have been given performed having some. I wrote down whilst the male grew to grow to be into appearing humorous near to the females that in basic terms had toddlers and it grew to grow to be into February 26 and the females had the toddlers march 25. yet another guppie could desire to need to have been pregnant. remember The abdomen length on the fish dont count selection.

yes, there are many'off'genus's of the guppy(not all being fancy)there are wild types(&several different tail shapes)depending on which tpye of guppy it is.
WOW,i really did't know there were this many types, there are many, many guppies, some with no long tail at all.(just got given a book on them)
In a small space the guppy may be a bit nippy.Really depends on the temperament of the betta as to wheather he will tolerate it or not.In shor they could both nip at each, but it's not that likly.Should be fine.

I have guppies with my fighting fish, the guppies are colourful with long tails.. Theres no problems.. He just ignores them alot of the time. sometimes he just swims with them.. My fighter is not agressive towards other fish in my tank.. I replaced the other fighter i had in there, because the first one was a bit of a d*ckhead and chased them into the corners.. the one i have in there now is fine..

Its the tetras i have that are nipping the guppies
