The hard drive is cheap and incredibly easy to upgrade. The memory is cheap and relatively easy to upgrade, but on an older computer you can only upgrade the RAM so far. The max memory capacity on that computer is probably 512MB, which is barely enough to get by. The processor is the most expensive part to upgrade, so you need to know what kind of processor it has. I'd say if it's a Pentium 4 or better, it may be worth$100-$150. If it's a Pentium 3 or older, I'd offer them $50 for it, it's not worth much more than that. You can get a brand new computer with an Athlon 64 X2 processor and 1GB of RAM for $350 at http://newegg.com these days.

If it has a windows xp sticker it is worth already worth $150 of the 200. A bigger hard drive is only 40 extra from Newegg and extra memory is like an additional 20.
I would get it for a student, but not for work.

If all you want to do is surf the net, it would be ok, if the memory is upgradable, but you can get much better laptops at Wal-mart or online for $400, you'll get 512mb memory with those and a larger hard disk. If your wanting the laptop for anything other than internet or MS word, I wouldn't by it. 12GB hard disk is pretty old.

Completely depends on how much money you want to spend. You can buy a cheap desktop for about 500.00 new and then get your upgrades: videocard,160 gb hard drive, 1gb memory for another 150.00 wich is cheaper than asking for all of the stuff included. Despite what you may think, it is a simple process to put these things in yourself. Maybe a five minute job. Good Luck!

No, I bought one with 2 gig less HD capacity for $50. The rest of parts better be top-notch to warrant $200 price tag.

IT"S OOOOLD.
What good is it would cost 120.00+ to upgrade the memory and HDD. The processor has got to be old also and probably be 500mhz to 750mhz tops. The processor is probably not upgradeable.
512 of RAM would be the limit.............I wouldn't buy it........If it were free I wouldn't waste monry on trying to upgrade it.
Sorry you asked and that's my opinion.
