Can we truly believe it was for only 4 miles over the speed limit? I doubt that seriously.
Anyway, if you have a license to drive you should obey the speed limit. There are a lot of drunks on the street during holidays and you need to be as alert as possible.
Let law enforcement do their jobs and quit complaining. If they didn't do their jobs then you could complain because your taxes pay their salaries.
I hope you wished the officer a Merry Christmas and thanked them for helping to keep the streets safe for you and your loving family and friends.

that stinks :(... some cops... not all of them.. but some cops feel the need to use their authority to irritate others... he should have cut you slack for the 4 mph over the limit.. its christmas night theres probably drunks out there on the road ......thats who should be getting in trouble!!!

There are some areas where they are more strict about these things than others. My brother had a similar experience on his 16th birthday and my dad was in the car with him. They gave him the ticket anyways.
Sorry to hear that you received it on Christmas. I guess you could try and view it as your unexpected Christmas donation to your local police department.
Happy holidays!

You shouldn't have been speeding. Even if it is only 4 over. I don't think the police were bitter. They have the jobs they have to protect people.

That just isn't right. Obviously you were stopped by the policeman without much holiday joy. He could of just gave you a warning and let you go and wished you a Merry Christmas.
