Lou Gehrig doesn't have 500 home runs, and neither does Sheffield.

2007-12-25 13:58:26 · update #1

Had Gehrig not passed from the disease, he would have had 500 home runs. He was just 7 short.

2007-12-25 13:59:15 · update #2

Sheffield has 480 home runs.

Rafeal Palmeiro
Willie Mc Covey
Willie Mays
Ted Williams
Babe Ruth

Lou Gehrig ^
Alex Rodriguez
Frank Thomas
Jim Thome
Ken Griffey Jr.
Hank Aaron
Babe Ruth
Willie Mays
Reggie Jackson
Jimmie Foxx
Harmon Kilebrew
Frank Robinson
Ted Williams
Earnie Banks
Eddie Murray
Sammy Sosa
Willie McCovey
and

Barry Bonds*
Mark McGwire*
Rafael Palmeiro*

^= Notes that the player would have hit 500 home- runs had their career not been cut short by a fatal disease.

*= Notes that the player used performance enhancing drugs during their playing career to boost/ increase their statistics.

There may be evidence of Sammy Sosa using drugs and Alex Rodriguez has never used steroids/HGH

Edit: I forgot Mickey Mantle. Je suis bete!(I am stupid)

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Lets see....

Hank Aaron
Barry Bonds
Mickey Mantle
Sammy Sosa
Mark McGuire
Willie Mays
Babe Ruth
Gary Sheffield
Ken Griffey Jr
A-Rod
Lou Gehrig was very close to hitting 500

Edit: Whoops! Sorry about the Gary Sheffield mistake. He was pretty close, though. As was Lou Gehrig. He would have hit his 500th (if not more) if he had not gotten sick. Anyways, this is a great question...we need more of these in the baseball section! Its no fun, though, if you look at other users answers to come up with a new one...Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays, everyone.

How in the world did the "#1 NY Yankees fan" leave Babe Ruth out??

And then, on top of that, mentioning Lou Gehrig?

Inexcusable!
