There's one that was in my room at my mother's house. For years I had no idea what the damn thing did (neither did Mom or Dad) so we always kept it on. God only knows how much electric they were wasting just by keeping that switch turned on. Many (and I mean MANY) years later, we found out it worked the outlet behind my bed. Duh.
