The monitor should be connected to your computer. In order to connect your computer to a router you need a CAT5 cable to connect from your router to the network connector on the back of your computer. The connector looks like a telephone connector only a little wider.

and wh told you that you can hook up a computer using the monitor conection?????
or is it a mac??? more especific information.please.
anyway, waht you need to look for is for the network conection it is like the phone cord but thicker.. that is the one you need to use.
