My theory
I believe is peoples natural ways that makes them want to avoid harmful things. we often take things for granted because we get too comfortable with it and not relize that it could be lost, when is lost we have sorrow lol over it and i guess sorrow is more noticable then common joy.
Plus we see other people have those things and when we get it we kind of blend in, ...
I believe if you know how to cherish those small things, water, the toilet, the perfect shaped window, then you will know more of what it means plus it means more joy and happy life for u

Good question, easy answer, because they don´t know before what they lose. But after they lost it they cry a lot. I saw that on my example, I lost the facility of hearing, I cried very long and very hard.

because when someone doesn't have something..that is when they really understand how much it meant to them. they miss it, and when someone actually has something they don't know what it is like to miss it. they take it for granted.
