In ancient Greece or Mycene if someone pissed you off/offended you sufficently you could kill them unless yhey were able to stop you, yet today you can punch someone and get charged with "assault" and go to jail?
Which model do you more agree with?

I think if someones not tough enough to stop you they shouldn't have been messing with you in the first place!

Me thinks ye have gotten into trouble. In Greece they did not like how you thought, they could force you to kill yourself. You watch to many movies. Also, me thinks you want an excuse for what you did.

If we still lived by the first method, then life would be chaos! People would be getting murdered everywhere all the time! It would be horrible! I definately agree with today's laws. If a person made a complately innocent gesture and someone misinterpreted it in the old days, the innocent person might get killed for absolutely nothing. People would have small families and would live in fear of each other. ☺

I don't think you should kill somebody for pissing you off, lol. If that was the case society would have died off a long time ago. But....as for assault. That depends. You shouldn't go around punching people, but you should have the right to stand up for yourself.
