NOW.org:
"The push to ban certain third trimester abortions is just one of about a half dozen different legislative maneuvers by abortion opponents in Congress, whose numbers swelled to a majority as a result of the 1994 elections."

I don't think any woman would WANT such a late term abortion, if she didn't know she was pregnant it is unlikely she would find out about it in the 9th month unless she was already in labour in which case she will hold that baby and never want to let it go. I think that the longer people continue a pregnancy the more attached they become, why let a baby become fully developed and then take away its life? Why not give the baby to somebody who wants them? I think that if abortions were illegal people would be much more careful about pregnancy and those who do end up unexpectedly pregnant would love their children regardless. It would be hard to make the decision to terminate your pregnancy and in a lot of cases I think that it is not even what the woman wants but something she is being pressured into by a partner or family. Tough issue, I wouldn't tell anybody else what to do regarding abortion, I just know that I personally will not have one.

What about the girls that wher raped and didn't spread thier legs? Yeah if a girl willingly opens her legs and has sex then yes i would be against abortion but if a girl is forced against her will to have sex then quite honestly i would have nothin against it. As for the abortion any where near the ninth month i would consider that pretty damb cruel.

No, not at all. Abortion at any stage of a pregnancy fills me with sorrow and anger that a life could be so easily discarded. It is even more distressing for the baby further along in its development.
With so many contraceptions available today, why are there still millions of abortions being performed around the world?
Even in North America, I have read that the pill is available free of charge, so what gives? And men, you have a part to play too, be responsible.

No abortion is wrong the choice for a woman comes before sex and if she is raped while horrible it isn't the babies fault and so shouldn't be the one to get the death penalty.
Delicious- Have you ever heard of partial birth abortion? It is where the baby is minutes away from birth and a rod is rammed into the soft part of it's head and the suck it's brain out with a vacuum tube. And then they pull the baby out. It is banned now but feminist groups fought against outlawing it.

nope. only until 20 weeks, when the fetus is viable outside the womb. once it is technically viable, youre too late.
chevalier and carl: "partial birth abortion" (dialation and extraction) has been illegal for years except in cases where the mother is dying. it was recently banned altogether in the US despite this fact, so now you cant get it even if you are dying. so i hope you and others like you are happy. you have banned a practice that saved one life at the cost of another, so now two people will die. how can you sleep at night?

That's not even legal.
Most states wont preform abortions after the 12th week (1st trimester).
Very few will preform them beyond that, until the 24th week (2nd trimester).
I have never even heard of an abortion at full term.
Personally...I'm against abortions after the first trimester.

Carl - do not make sweeping statements about ALL feminists, AND if you are going to provide a link it should actually support the claim. Couldn't find anything in that article that did.
I think that such a person would be rare indeed. I believe that abortion should be carried out as early as possible, and of course before the time of viability - standing at between 5 and 6 months now. But personally I could not abort after 3 months.

I really, really don't think abortion is right after the first trimester, except in extenuating circumstances, such as the mother's health being in jeopardy.
