a g3 is a tad too old for bootcamp and OS x..

only thing I can suggest is "virtual pc" but it will run very slow due to the age of the cpu

I don't even think os9 is supported?

The latest version of Mac OSX, entitled Leopard, has a program included called Boot Camp. This program will break your hard drive into two partitions (virtually, not physically!) so you can install Windows XP or Vista on the other partition. You will need your own version of Windows, though, and your Mac will need to be Intel-based (most Macs released in the past couple of years are Intel-based).

Another option you can consider for Mac OSX is Parallels Desktop. This is a third-party option that will allow you to run Mac OSX and Windows simultaneously. This third-party option does cost money and, once again, you'll need your own copy of Windows.

Hope this helps!

No. In order to run Windows on a Macintosh, you need software called Parallels Desktop for Mac. Parallels will only run on an Intel®-based Mac, so an iMac G3 wouldn't cut it.

Don't, I repeat, don't do it dear. You'll degrade your IMAC.The system running on Your IMAC is far more decent than Microsoft products. Using windows systems are like renting a super dirt cheap hotel where you can actually see bugs running around all over. So I beg you don't install XP on your IMAC system. Good enough, yes?

NO You cant.
Only the newest Intel chipped core 2 duo Mac's are capable of running with Xp or Vista alongside of OSX.

I believe that the G3 is too old to do so. You could purchase software to run a "virtual PC" on the G3, but it would run very slowly and probably not be worth your effort.
