I love the awkward turtle! It's been a great icebreak in many situations.
I love it when you do it and other people who know what it is will turn to their friend and be like "See!? Other people do that too!"

During an awkward moment, this hand gesture is used to mark the situation as awkward, and, depending on the situation, makes it more awkward or clears the air. The awkward turtle is made by putting one hand on top of the other with the thumbs sticking outward and rotating forward. The speed of the rotating thumbs depends on the degree of awkwardness.

When i first heard about it, i thought it was when you have to do number two and you are sitting on the potty but it wont come out and its keeps poking out like a turtle and going back in.

Edit: Prissy_Kitty tried to explain it but I don't understand. How do you put your hands and what exactly does "spin your thumbs forward" mean? Please give me more details.
Edit Again: Do you put your hands on top of each other with the knuckeles facing up (on both hands) and then rotate your thumbs as if it is the legs of the turtle walking forward?

confident. in the time of type it grew to become into extremely quiet through fact we've been examining and then somebody's abdomen growled extremely loud and extremely everyone heard it yet no person pronounced something... it grew to become into awkward i think.

yes i do, but my friend and i have invented a new one, the awkward turtle-dragon!
I make the dragon head, he makes the awkward turtle...
