I have a divisor in my betta breeding tank (10 gallons). This dividor used to be transparent, and both bettas (a female and a male) and after three months is no longer see-thru. Now is white opaque.

Does some one knows how to clean it up, and make it transparent again?

The glass idea is a really good idea, but I have no money, use all the budget on christmas presents.

The one I have is the plastic, is removable.

I think what you're seeing is a natural consequence of time, lighting, and cleaning.

Instead of glass, go to a store that sells craft materials an get a sheet of plastic canvas (will be under $1) and cut it to the size of the old divider. It looks like this: http://www.needlecraftshowcase.com/npg/plastic.gif and comes in sheets about 8.5x11 inches, or 11x14 inches. You can get this in a couple of colors, but the holes in it are larger, and allows for better water flow between the sections. Your bettas will still be able to see each other too.

There is not much you can do with plastics, it is a natural deterioration over time. Same for other plastics like Tupperware containers. The slightly acidic condition of most tanks also contributes. You can also use black colored plastic mesh which would avoid this problem with transparent plastic.
There is no need to let the bettas see each other, actually it stresses the male betta if he constantly flares his gill covers & fins at other fishes.

It depends if your divider is removable, and what it is made out of. Since it seems as though your divider is free floating, I would suggest taking it out and wiping it down (which im sure you have tried) It looks like it is plastic, in which case scrub it down but DO NOT use soaps or chemicals. 2 Options are to 1. Live with it, or 2. Get a glass one that is easier to keep clean. I hope this helps you.

The whole glass thing is quite expensive. How 'bout clean it with cloth. Make sure you don't add soap. Just scrub and wipe it up.
