Well, there are quite a few hippies nowadays. Reason: Either they really like drugs or they really don't like the war.
Do you think when Bush is gone, and hopefully when this worthless war ends, the new-age hippie movement will go as well? Really, I'm not only against the war, and I don't want it to end. What are your thoughts on this?
Peace.

I actually think that Hillary is a pretty good candidate. She at least cares about people.

I actually think that Hillary is a pretty good candidate. She at least cares about people. And Bush? He hates gay people dammit and supports the war.
Who is really better: Hillary who donates to poor people, or Bush who discriminates?

Today's Hippies are yesterday's ''no child left behind" Never it was that all hippies are into drugs or anti war, although their's is the culture we need to rid America of the carnage called Bush and Iraq. Peace & Love

Nope.. There will always be the so called "hippy" crowd.. Even the democratic candidates are not good enough for them.. They are the far leftists in this country and they are a slim % of the population.. I don't even know if I'd call them "leftists" actually.. Because it seems that they are one-issue type people.. "no blood for oil" but have no clue on anything else.. That's what it seems like to me anyways.. They really don't matter quite honestly..

I love you as a contact but we are on different sides of the fence. I choose what I think to be a more pro active stance on changing the world. Granted..Hippie culture was so fun, but in the end they changed to yuppies. Too much idealism will only breed falsity in the end. Moderation is key to changing this world.

in many situations, they have been appalled, and in touch with regard to the way forward for "suited" society. the situation with the hippie era is that it under pressure individuality and freedom to the exclusion of duty and hardship-unfastened experience. the tutorial gadget began a nostril dive in this time using fact "previous formed" concepts have been unexpectedly out of trend, and anybody needed to be "hip" and fashionable. the wealthy only embraced the inventive area of the hippie way of life. Andy Warhol and his crowd have been extensive celebrities. of course, Andy Warhol wasn't employing around in a VW Caravan and spending all his time gettng intense. a lot of inns refused to permit human beings of the hippie way of life (even wealthy ones, which includes music stars) into their inns using fact it scandalized the classic elite.

There's an interesting article that Andrew Sullivan, a conservative writer who is actually supporting Barack Obama wrote about Obama possibly being the only candidate who could possibly put the culture wars that began with the Vietnam War in the 60s and continue on today behind us. I don't agree with all of it but it is interesting.

What "new-age hippie movement" are you refering to ? The one where people are tiring of the millions of dollars being funneled into a black hole.....the one where the general population are beginning to understand the importance of renewable resources......or perhaps the one where we believe peace cannot be achieved through the barrel of a gun ? Gee - that's a lot of people with the label "hippie"!

As long as there are boomers not ready to admit they are senior citizens, there will always be a hippie culture.

Worthless war? I know a few soldiers who would blacken your face for that remark.
As long as there are conflicts to be protested and drugs to be smoked, there will be hippies.
Bush is actually quite the hippie, or was, anyway. Dodged the war, did the drugs, he passed his 'hippie rite of passage'.
Edit: I'm going to take a stab in the dark, and say you're gay... or gay rights activist?

Me,years ago, alot of friends gone on, and our brave soldiers now, are out there protecting your right to rap,get down, and sing the blues, and what are you smoking, You say you're aganist the war, and you don't want it to end. You get one of the demos in office, you'll get your earned reward. Thank you troops, for your service to your country.
