Well, there are quite a few hippies nowadays. Reason: Either they really like drugs or they really don't like the war.
Do you think when Bush is gone, and hopefully when this worthless war ends, the new-age hippie movement will go as well? Really, I'm not only against the war, and I don't want it to end. What are your thoughts on this?
Peace.

BeeZee...I said new-age hippies. Hippies will be around for a long time as long as there is a cause.

Uh, I don't know about the hippy culture ever dying. I have been around for 51 years, and I still have long hair (passed my shoulders) and I still groove on old rock and roll. As far as the issues, that is just personal choice. Peace!

The hippie culture never died, the people just got older.
Todays hippie wanna be's will never live up to the people they are trying to emulate. Sorry but it was done the best, the first time. Today the wanna be's are just too laid back to be anything but, talkers they are not activists. The old hippies will just get older, with a new president the new hippies will stay the same, living a past they never belonged too.

This is exactly why Hillary supporters feel contempt for Obama supporters and the mainstream media. YOU'RE NEVER SATISFIED! She's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't. You'll bash her no matter what she does. You people are just unbelievable!!! She's suspending her campaign; she's endorsing and campaigning for Obama ... you should be happy now. Anyway, have you forgotten that Hillary won 3 out of the last 4 primaries and punched a hole in Obama's lock on the western states? She's stronger against McCain, even OUT of the race ... look at the electoral map! Technically, she won the popular vote, too. I think she deserved a few days to get her thoughts together. She's out of the race now ... so ... WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?!?

We will always have self-indulgent, I mean hippies, among us. Make love, not war.

you're misinformed. the hippie culture as we knew it in the 60's and 70's is dead. some people continue to use drugs, recreationally or otherwise. not liking the war -- the one in Iraq or any other one -- is a separate phenomenon. and not liking our president is a constitutionally protected freedom.

welcome to democracy, where we have to right to buy and use stuff that's bad for us and creates a toxic environment for others..
