S P-Just thinking about the idea of most men being misogynists is scary, because I love men and I don't want to stop loving them.
Maybe I'm living in a fantasy world.

You're right Lioness.. I'm not really asking about just in the work place, though. I'm talking about in every day life.
I'm honestly concerned, so I decided to take a little poll.. I think I'm done w/ relationships and dating. -.-

Instead of wasting our time dwelling on how they feel, maybe we can work on finding ways to succeed as much as men in areas we feel we are as strong. We can sit here and debate all day long that we are as able and competent at work, but what good does it do, if statistically men make more than women? I think it's better for us to get our "ish" together, really believe we're equal and support it with action. Talk is cheap and all this dwelling is certainly useless and waste of time.

EDIT:
I know sweetheart. The truth is, yes, some do feel that women are inferior and only good to stay in the kitchen or not worth as much. Some are blunt about it, others not. But in the end it doesn't matter, unless you're sleeping with one of them or they're legally discriminating against you. The first one we have full control over. Only get close to those who consider us of equal value and are respectful. The second one we have control over also. It's called filing a lawsuit :) So in the end, their opinions have little or no value...although I'm sure they get excited to answer a question like this expressing their superiority LOL

And Merry Christmas. I don't think I sent you an email.

From whom I have spoked to and hang around with this couldn't be further than the truth, but I would say that society in General may auctually have a tendency to do so.
I am personally friends with alot of feminists and hold women is equal regard to myself and judge them on their personality, not gender.
Our media and culture, however, still depict our women as sex objects and simply housekeepers far too much, though I think this says far more about males than it does females.

How could I think that the female members of my own species were inferior to the male members? Inferior in what way?
I do not take polls here and opinion, regardless of sex, is absolutely worthless.

False. Most men, if asked directly if women are inferior as people (as humans) would say NO.

A minority of men (and women) would say YES.

Most men (and women) do feel that their sex has unique qualities that the other possesses to a lesser degree, or not at all.

(e.g.) women will usually bring up their unique ability to give birth whereas men might cite their (usual) superior strength.

So, I would say that both men and women feel superior to the other in certain aspects of life.

It's definitely true, hence why we say things along the lines of "you ____ like a girl" when criticizing one another. Now I personally don't feel that way, but the gender as a whole does.

Edit: Well, naturally the majority of men will deny this when asked by a woman directly. Just like most people willy deny having any racial preference(s), and other such taboo subjects.

What's scaring you?

Oh, well I suppose so. But, misogynist means hatred of women, most men just consider themselves better than women, not so much hating them, but yeah, I guess that could pose an issue. I'm sure you'll find a few who don't share that sentiment though, so don't give up.

Oh c'mon. This has been going on for nearly 100,000 years, if you just noticed it now, then it mustn't affect your life very much. You really shouldn't change your life just for that.

Edit: Eric J, that would be highly dependent on the circumstances of the comment. If that comment was made in a fight, then yes, but it could just as well be different, if it was another circumstance, like say in relation to the condition of her skin. All sex stereotypes.

Edit: [To Violinist] Would be nice, wouldn't it? This whole 'equality' thing is pretty new. It started with religion, then with race, and now with sex/gender, but it will be a while before it becomes fully accepted, give it time. Note, the religious and racial battles for equality still haven't ended, so it will be a while.

False. They are a loud minority. Most men respect women and se them as equal.

I think most men, and most women too, view one another as equally capable with differences that should be celebrated. Men throughout history have generally been overly protective of women but as time unfolds, we're seeing women should not be coddled as they have in the past.
Sadly, in the eyes of the law, women are still being coddled far too much as it seems much easier to blame the nearest man than make a woman fully responsible for her actions.

I'm very much for equal treatment of men & women - that definitely includes the handing out of legal repercussion.

I do not agree with walrus in any way. First of all, men are opressed in the media in the worst light possible. Here are a few examples which i'm sure everyone has seen atleast once or twice in the media or even real life.

Female rape is classified as being horrendous, but male rape is funny.

Men are being portrayed as evil, stupid or buffoons on TV and 99.9% of women are self liberated smart and powerful wives, sisters, mothers, general people in society etc.

Now who thinks they're the superior ones in reality?

What else i think feminists try to make out is "statistics" on schooling. Its a feminized education system that cripples natural behavior of boys, then girls claiming they are smarter. That to me is also making men inferior the the publics eye.I just hope i'm not the only that sees this.

Me personally, i do not think men are superior to women in any aspect, as in reverse. I just think we are superior individually, whether your good at sporting or academically.
