Congratulations! For me it is knowing there is NOT an upcoming grandbaby. Don't get me wrong I absolutely adore the 4 I have, but timing would be horrible for any of my 5 kids to be expecting right now.

I received an antique quill and ink set! It is lovely and very thoughtful! I love calligraphy and was quite good at it!

Congratulations! What a great Christmas present. My best gift today was a new digital camera with a screen I can actually see (!!!) to take pics of my first granddaughter being delivered one week from today!

Congratulations, how lovely for you ! My best present was my son, who was born on 19th December 28 years ago. I'd been told I wouldn't have another child, so he was like a miracle baby for me. I took him home on Christmas Eve. When people asked my 4 year old daughter what she'd got for Christmas, she'd say "I got a brother!" (Needless to say, very soon she wanted me to take him back where he came from !)

My husband did get some good news yesterday though... his daughter had her baby. He is now a grandfather again. I think the number is either 12 or 13.... ouch!

A pair of Roy Rogers cap pistols in 1949 or 1950. Also a felt vest and chaps with conchos.
We must have sold an extra cutting of alfalfa hay that year. First time I recall ever wondering how that came to pass.
