Any literature books? Please do not suggest books with old English. I'm 13 so please suggest books that are meant for this age group and not for adults. Thank you! Help is GREATLY appreciated.

"Pride and Prejudice" - Jane Austen
"A Separate Peace" - John Knowles
"The Red Badge of Courage" - Stephen Crane
"To Kill A Mockingbird" - Harper Lee
"The Great Gatsby" - F. Scott Fitzgerald
"Number the Stars" - Lois Lowry

I think "Crime and Punishment" and "Les Miserables" might be too heavy for a 13-year-old, even for a really strong reader.

Well, these are my suggestion:
Les Misrables by Victor Hugo
Count of Monte Christo by Alexandre Dumas
Pride and Predjudice by Jane Austen
Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (some people think this book is racist, I dont think so... it's a good book actually, and fit with your age)
Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain (same reason with Huck Finn, good book for teen)
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho (but I'm not sure if this book considered as 'school book', but this is great book)

Anna Karenina is also on the top of my list! The Brothers Karamozav - Feodor Dostoevsky Metamorphosis - Franz Kafka Atlas Shrugged is the absolute best. You'll love it. Same with Count of Monte Cristo!! Happy Reading :)

I have found that Victor Hugo's Les Miserables contains all human emotions. But read an abridged version, otherwise it is way tooooo looooong and booorrring.
Camus The Plague is also good.

"Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoevsky is a book which will fit the criteria you mentioned quite well ; I hope you enjoy the book for it is a microcosm of the human condition .
